About me

Hi, I'm Laura, NBC-HWC and Founder of Laura Jane Wellness.

As a woman, busy mom of four, and entrepreneur, I’ve experienced the effects of letting my own health sit on the backburner

 

Like you, I’ve struggled with my own health and wellness challenges, as well as finding ways to support the health of my family. I felt overwhelmed by all of the information out there, with conflicting information on the internet and in the latest books. Food labels were misleading and hard to understand, and as I attempted to figure out food intolerances, I was overcome with all the changes I supposedly needed to make to figure this out on my own.

 

There was not enough time in the day. I was tired, confused, overwhelmed, and feeling lost in a sea of information.

 

I pursued health with a vigor and focused on small lifestyle changes I knew I would love. I started to dance more, go to yoga classes, and found time to hike and be in nature. I spent more time with my kids, who are active athletes, and found nourishment in my community and with healthy foods. Every single one of these changes had vast positive impacts on my wellness and helped me with my health.

 

Through my experience, a passion grew within me. I became a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a Diabetes Paraprofessional, and completed a Master's of Science in Integrative Health and Wellness.

 

I experienced firsthand the benefits of a strengths-based approach to change, and I knew I had to help others in their own wellness journey.

My approach

to your health & wellness

Here are the 6 areas I help my clients with:

  1. Improving Your Nutrition –The impact of your diet and nutrition is profound and can make you feel good fast.
  2. Getting Enjoyable Physical Movement – You’d be surprised what a little exercise each day can do for your mental game and physical aches and pain.
  3. Implementing Restorative Sleep – This is the simplest, cheapest and fastest way to feel better and brighter. Sleep is so important that without restorative sleep, none of the tools do much good.
  4. Reducing Stress – While some stress may never go away, you can learn an entirely new way of responding to stress that makes you healthier and bypasses the typical response of stress eating and drinking.
  5. Creating Positive Social Connections – This will lift your spirits and bring new meaning into your life while reducing overindulging, overworking and more.
  6. Decreasing Life Shortening Behaviors – At a certain age, risky behaviors like overdrinking and substance abuse simply shorten your life and make it hard to feel, be and look your best.

How I do This:

  1. Integrative – I work with who you are as a whole person: your vocation, your personal life and all that is important to you, as all of this impacts your well-being. Otherwise, my recommendations simply won’t stick. This ensures that all the solutions you and I create will work for YOU.
  2. Evidence Based – I use evidence-based methods to facilitate behavior change. You can rest assured that my recommendations and coaching approach are based in science of lifestyle medicine.
  3. Customized Wellness – I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Each person is unique, and I take the time to help clients understand precisely what is necessary to create their desired health.
  4. Coaching for Long Lasting Change – As you work on getting healthier, you’ll get stuck or off-track from time to time. That’s normal! This time, with me by your side, I’ll coach you on getting unblocked and go beyond setbacks.

The result? My clients can start living their desired life instead of just dreaming.

My mission as a health coach is to enable you to be self-sufficient. Though I love working with my clients, my goal in coaching is to empower you to understand your body and health on such a deep level, that you know exactly what it takes to succeed in your wellness journey.

 

I’m not here to tell you what to do, or to say that I am the expert in your body.
